How We Score
Updated 2 Nov 2026.
We score by job fit, not by feature count. Each category has its own criteria and weights. Weights add to 100 in each category. No product gets a numeric score on a researched comparison page. The weights show what mattered most in the pick, so a reader can see why a tool leads for one job and loses for another.

Evidence sources
We use vendor docs, vendor pricing pages, changelogs, public reviews and published benchmarks. A claim about a price must come from the vendor's own pricing page, with the check date shown. If the vendor hides the price, we write Quote only and link to the vendor pricing or contact page. A claim about a feature must come from vendor docs or a changelog. Public reviews are used to flag floor-level problems, not as proof of a feature.
What "Researched comparison" means
A researched comparison means we reviewed documents and public evidence and compared tools on the same checks. We did not run the tool in a live fleet, shop or warehouse. We only publish researched comparisons now. No page on this site claims our own product test. No numeric product scores appear on researched pages.
