Privacy Policy

Sortlark collects as little as possible. We collect basic, cookieless traffic stats via Cloudflare Web Analytics. That service counts visits and basic page views without setting cookies for tracking and without the ad trackers used by many sites. We do not run ad trackers. We do not sell visit data. We do not build profiles of readers.

There is no account system on this site. You do not create a login, a password or a profile to read an article. If you email us, we receive the email address you send from and the content of your note. We use that email only to reply, to check a correction, or to handle a vendor or sponsored inquiry. We do not add email addresses to a marketing list unless you ask us to in plain words.

Cookies: this site does not set cookies for advertising or for cross-site tracking. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless. If a vendor link takes you to a vendor site, that vendor site has its own cookies and its own privacy policy. Read the vendor policy before you enter personal details on a vendor form.

Links to other sites: article sources link to vendor pages and public sources. Those sites collect data under their own policies. We do not control them. Do not send personal details through a source link unless you mean to contact that vendor.

Data requests and contact: to ask what email data we hold about a note you sent, or to ask us to delete that note, email the address below with the subject line Privacy request. Tell us the date you wrote and the email address you used, so we can find the right note. We will reply and confirm what was done.

Changes to this policy: if we change how traffic stats are collected, or if we add an account system, cookies or ad trackers, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
